Comfort Rooms in the Roman Countryside
In Piglio, wine is an integral part of the landscape, history and local identity. This is the home of Cesanese del Piglio DOCG — a small yet outstanding wine from the Lazio region, cultivated on the hills surrounding the town. During your stay, you can visit wineries, meet the producers, stroll through the vineyards, and enjoy a guided tasting. It is an opportunity to discover wines with real character and — through every glass — learn the history of an authentic land.
If you like, we can arrange a winery tour and a tasting for you.
History is everywhere around Piglio. Anagni — the City of Popes — is home to a magnificent cathedral, a frescoed crypt, and the Treasury Museum. Alatri captivates with its Cyclopean walls, Veroli with its historic center, and Paliano with the history of the Colonna family. And then there are the abbeys of Casamari and Trisulti, surrounded by the quiet of the natural landscape. A remarkable heritage, perfect for creating a different itinerary every day.
Simply lace up your hiking boots to step into a world of forests, mountains, and sweeping vistas. Mount Scalambra offers spectacular routes and views, while the CAI trail network allows you to discover the landscape step by step. Lake Canterno offers a peaceful natural escape just a few kilometres from Piglio, while the Via Francigena adds the allure of a historic pilgrimage route to your journey.
We can guide you as you explore the village and its trails, or help you choose the route that best suits you.
Just minutes from Piglio, Fiuggi offers everything you need to focus on your well-being. Its renowned mineral waters have fostered a long-standing spa tradition, now enhanced by a wide range of spas, treatments, and wellness circuits. After a day spent visiting villages, vineyards, or hiking trails, you can choose to slow down, treat yourself to a massage, or immerse yourself in a relaxation journey. After all, a holiday is also about the pleasure of not being in a rush.
If a holiday means staying active for you, Piglio is an excellent starting point. You can go cycling along the dedicated bike path, choose a trekking route up Mount Scalambra or explore the area's many trails, taking in the landscape at a leisurely pace. And for golf enthusiasts, Fiuggi offers a lush, 18-hole course set in a stunning location.
